Can we really achieve net zero buildings?

The building sector is one of the most complex and influential sectors in the world, especially when it comes to decabonisation.

If you ask people outside the field, they’ll usually say:

“Just put some solar panels” OR “Decarbonise the grid”

But trust me, the story is very different than that.

Achieving net zero buildings isn’t just about supplying clean energy.

It’s alot more than that! It’s first about reducing energy intensity.

We’re talking about cutting energy use by 30% to 50% to align with net zero targets.

It’s also about electrification: replacing boilers and any onsite fuel combustion.

It’s also about DESIGN and implementing green building principles across the lifecycle of the building.
