Sarah Sabry – Inclusive Cities: Cities for Children
Explore the urban challenges facing children – from slum living to exclusion from governance – and learn how we can create cities that nurture and empower young lives. Based on work by the Global Alliance – Cities4Children. The Global Urban Lectures are 15-minute lectures on themes related to sustainable urbanisation, delivered by renowned experts, UN-Habitat partners and UN-Habitat staff. The lectures have been ranked among the best MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on cities. The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN–Habitat) is the United Nations agency working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all. In partnership with UN-Habitat’s Quality of Life Initiative, season 7 of the Global Urban Lectures explores new pathways to enhance quality of life in cities—from rapid diagnostics and inclusive planning, to understanding citizens’ emotions in public spaces and the connection between heritage and urban development.
