Since the 1989 report of the Advisory Council on Culture and the Arts, spaces for arts and culture have grown. From planning the civic district, to establishing key cultural institutions, to making the arts more accessible to people across the island, a range of initiatives sought to propel Singapore as a global city for the arts, and make the arts a more integral part of everyday life.
