ROADMAP OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS 2023 – 2030

Indonesia’s Commitment to Accelerating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
As a country committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs), Indonesia continues to pursue various strategies to accelerate the achievement of these targets. The progress made in implementing the SDGs was disrupted during the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by several global crises that arose during the recovery period.
Despite the ongoing global challenges, Indonesia has demonstrated resilience and the ability to recover while striving for future development transformation. To ensure sustainable and resilient development, the Government is preparing inclusive and sustainable structural reforms within the framework of the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025-2045.
Development for the next 20 years is outlined in eight development missions (agendas):
- Social Transformation
- Economic Transformation
- Governance Transformation
- Rule of Law, Stability, and Toughness in Diplomacy
- Socio-Cultural and Ecological Resilience
- Equitable and Quality Regional Development
- Quality and Environmentally Friendly Facilities and Infrastructure
- Sustainability of Development
Through these transformative efforts, Indonesia aims to achieve its SDGs commitment by 2030 and fulfill other global commitments, including Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner.
Efforts to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs over the next seven years require strategic elaboration to serve as benchmarks and references for various stakeholders. To this end, the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) has taken the initiative to revise the previous SDGs Roadmap.
In collaboration with the SDGs Center at Padjadjaran University, supported by the Asian Development Bank, KfW, and the European Union, as well as through a series of inclusive preparation processes, the 2023-2030 SDGs Roadmap has been developed. This roadmap serves as:
- A translation of the global SDGs agreement at the national level.
- A strategy and set of national targets for achieving the SDGs by 2030.
- A reference for preparing national and regional development plans.
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 111/2022 concerning the Implementation of the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, the 2023-2030 SDGs Roadmap was formally established by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas.
The roadmap, detailed in Ministerial Decree No. 118/M.PPN/HK/08/2023, provides an in-depth explanation of the methodology and includes comprehensive projections of key indicators.
On this occasion, I would like to extend my highest appreciation and gratitude to all parties involved in the preparation of the 2023-2030 SDGs Roadmap. May these collaborative efforts be blessed by Allah SWT and inspire as well as strengthen the commitment of all stakeholders to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia.
