A newly launched, pivotal study, “MSME Participation in the Circular Economy,” seeks to answer this precise question, offering unparalleled insights into the readiness and needs of these crucial economic actors. This comprehensive report delves into:

• The Current Landscape: A clear-eyed assessment of where individual ASEAN Member States presently stand in their circular economy adoption journey, identifying varying levels of progress and commitment.
• Unveiling MSME Challenges and Support Needs: A deep dive into the multifaceted obstacles MSMEs encounter when attempting to transition to circular practices. Crucially, it also identifies the specific support mechanisms they urgently require—ranging from essential mentorship and clear legal guidance to robust product certification processes that validate their sustainable efforts.
• Actionable Roadmaps for Policymakers: Providing concrete, actionable recommendations tailored for policymakers, designed to effectively accelerate the adoption of circular economy principles across the MSME sector throughout ASEAN.
