Net Zero is impossible without this step…

Every company today is under pressure to decarbonize. But here’s the big question: Do organizations really know where their emissions come from?
The Greenhouse Gas Protocol provides a clear framework through the 3 Scopes of Carbon Emissions:
🔹 Scope 1 – Direct Emissions
Emissions from sources a company owns or controls (e.g., company vehicles, boilers, furnaces, onsite fuel use).
🔹 Scope 2 – Indirect Electricity Emissions
Emissions from purchased electricity, heating, or cooling used in operations.
🔹 Scope 3 – Value Chain Emissions
The largest and most overlooked source. These cover all other indirect emissions across the supply chain — from purchased goods and services to employee commuting, waste, transportation, and even end-of-life product disposal.
Here’s the challenge: For most companies, Scope 3 accounts for the majority of the carbon footprint, yet it remains the hardest to measure and manage.
To move toward net zero, businesses must:
✅ Measure across all 3 scopes
✅ Collaborate with suppliers and partners
✅ Innovate in products, logistics, and processes
✅ Commit to transparency and accountability
The path to decarbonization is not only about compliance — it is about resilience, leadership, and long-term value creation.
