Net Zero is impossible without this stepโ€ฆ

Every company today is under pressure to decarbonize. But hereโ€™s the big question: Do organizations really know where their emissions come from?

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol provides a clear framework through the 3 Scopes of Carbon Emissions:

๐Ÿ”น Scope 1 โ€“ Direct Emissions
Emissions from sources a company owns or controls (e.g., company vehicles, boilers, furnaces, onsite fuel use).

๐Ÿ”น Scope 2 โ€“ Indirect Electricity Emissions
Emissions from purchased electricity, heating, or cooling used in operations.

๐Ÿ”น Scope 3 โ€“ Value Chain Emissions
The largest and most overlooked source. These cover all other indirect emissions across the supply chain โ€” from purchased goods and services to employee commuting, waste, transportation, and even end-of-life product disposal.

Hereโ€™s the challenge: For most companies, Scope 3 accounts for the majority of the carbon footprint, yet it remains the hardest to measure and manage.

To move toward net zero, businesses must:
โœ… Measure across all 3 scopes
โœ… Collaborate with suppliers and partners
โœ… Innovate in products, logistics, and processes
โœ… Commit to transparency and accountability

The path to decarbonization is not only about compliance โ€” it is about resilience, leadership, and long-term value creation.
